Shaun Goodrich Las Vegas Photography 101b reflected lighting 2
In this segment I would like focus on a different type of reflected light. This type of light reveals reveals very little shadows on the model Alex. But it will create a very clean fashion look with virtually no photo shop.
This set up will require 3 strobes and a large piece of clear plastic about 8ft x 8ft and preferably a white room (a studio) if you have access to one. Here’s how I shot it. I took the clear plastic and hung it in the corner of my studio about 7 feet high about 2 feet from the wall and sealed off the sides against each side of the wall. The corner allows a gap to place a strobe there with a 7 inch reflector facing the wall, I used an Alien Bee 400 at full power. In front of the plastic a bit to the right I placed a 800 Alien Bee (key light) about 6 feet away with a 7 inch reflector facing the wall angled up a bit, so it’s hitting part of the wall and the ceiling at about 3/4 power. on the left side I put another Alien Bee 400 facing the wall with a 7 inch reflector at half power. The back light shot into the white wall reflecting into the plastic creates that pure white infinity look for the background. The other 2 lights basically wraps the model Alex and gives a nice even light on her. It also helps to have a great model like Alex. I shot these images with a Canon 6D with a 24-70 2.8 at 160 F9 160 iso.
